/ The Eye Of Equality – Chapter 2: Understanding
Quietly reading my abilities description, I came to realize that I had no idea how to use it.
Splitting something in half?
"What does that mean?" I thought to myself.
Rather confused, I resolved myself to test it out.
Standing up, I started hopping over the rooftops to get out of town.
The place where I had lived for 12 years was called Well Town as it was situated at the bottom of a gigantic hole.
This hole was where people would mainly go to hunt monsters and such and was therefore a very popular hunting ground.
I almost never went out of the town as there were many monsters who could kill me instantly though finally awakening my ability made me feel rather invincible.
Sneaking past the town's guards, I leapt off the roof and started to scale the tall stone wall surrounding this town.
My skillful hands which were molded with countless robberies and combined with my small stature made climbing this stone wall a piece of cake for me even if I still had to use some rusty iron claws to help me grasp onto the rocks embedded into the wall.
After about 30 minutes, I reached the top.
No one really came here so I basically had the whole place to myself.
I began experimenting.
First splitting a stone in half then splitting some bread loaves into quarters.
Surprisingly, they all worked!
Then I tried to split the candle down in the streets.
I was a little disappointed when it did not split.
Seemed like my ability was limited to what I had physical contact with.
Wondering what else could be split, I rushed into town for a snatching spree.
I stole fruits, money, armor and even weapons lying in the trash.
Gathering these items, I held my breath as I said the magic word.
[Split]
Testing out all that I could do with this ability, I found out that it could dismantle the item into the separate materials that created it.
I began to think to myself, "What was the upper limit to my ability"
Thinking hard, I jokingly said "Could I potentially be able to split the world?"
I thought to myself with shock showing on my face, "that might actually be possible!"
I wasted no time scaling down the wall and landing in the alleyway near a shoddy house.
Placing my hand on the floor, I whispered the word.
[Split]
The ground trembled for a moment before cracks started showing all around me and they continued to grow until they reached the shoddy house.
I gasped in surprise when the house collapsed because of it's own weight.
[Cannot split the world]
[Host's ability level is too low]
Reading the words that magically appeared in front of me, I thought to myself.
"If this was the weakest level of this ability, what would happen if I leveled it up to the max?"
All of a sudden, sharp needlelike pains started racking my brain.
I fell to the floor in agony.
Was this the price of my power?
